Darren Maule was the king of Bad Dad Jokes in 2017
It was a great year for Darren Maule and his bad dad jokes, which had many laughing even though some of them were so cringeworthy!
2017 -the year that was. Who would have thought that we would be here already?!
In addition to the many fun things that the Breakfast Team got up to during the year, the bad dad jokes segment has to be one that many have enjoyed and laughed at - although many of them were cringeworthy.

The year started off with our very own Jane Linley-Mama, who was Darren's first victim, and let's just say that neither Darren nor Jane held back when it came to telling the most not-so-hilarious jokes.
Next it was Sky Tshabala's turn. Although it seems that these two have a bromance on-air, they both did not hold back at firing shots at each other when it came to bad dad jokes.
Then Keri had a chance to take her shot at Darren. She tried really hard to be competitive, but we're not too sure if her attempts worked at making him laugh.
Tannie Evita was up next and 'my skat', the aunty of the nation decided to get in on the action.
A legendary actor, director, and humourist got on-stage to take a shot at seeing if Darren was able to crack under the pressure of his bad dad jokes.
Lastly, our very own Rory Petzer got up on stage to go head to head with Darren. It was the battle of the comedians.
All in all, 2017 was officially the year of the 'bad dad joke' for Darren and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for us in 2018.
