Darren Maule's harrowing encounter with a Durban snake

A snake that made ‘em shake...
A slithering turn of events unfolded at a local business that resulted in Darren Maule going head-to-head with a snake!
With snake season in full swing in KwaZulu-Natal, many residents are reported to have spotted these slithering creatures around their homes, places of work, and more.
Darren Maule shared his own harrowing story about an encounter with a Durban snake.

As shared in the video above, Darren Maule was going about his day when he spotted a sizeable snake along a path.
Darren decided to be a hero by saving the snake from getting smushed by other hysterical pedestrians or from wreaking havoc on the scared locals.

Despite his own trepidation, Darren found a traffic cone and a stick, before guiding the snake into the traffic cone.
After consulting the professionals (Google), Darren deciphered that it was a small boomslang.
“It’s one of the most venomous bites you can get,” he said.
Part 2: Get the snake to safety
The mission was clear - get the snake to a place where it can live out its days without bothering any humans.
Darren took the civil serpent to an eco park development. Just as he was ready to release the snake into the wild, he looked inside the traffic cone on his passenger seat... and it was gone!
This could only mean one thing… the snake was loose in Darren’s vehicle!
