Crystal Palace robbed in the FA Cup final
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
The FA Cup final on Saturday was another match that was ruined by refereeing decisions.
The official in charge of the clash between Manchester United and Crystal Place in Wembley, Mark Clattenburg made a lot of questionable decisions.
The main one was the disallowed Crystal Palace goal.
The advantage rule clearly states that “Play On” is allowed in instances where awarding a free kick would clearly be in the benefit of the offending team.
In this instance, United's Chris Smalling deliberately fouled Palace's Connor Wickham who was in a great position to score.
Wickham stumbled but managed to get up and score. Instead of allowing the goal to stand, Clattenburg decided to caution Smalling and award Palace a free kick.
That decision favoured the offending team, United.
Watch the incident below and be the judge:I wonder of this official is not going to ruin the UEFA Champions League final as well.
