The couple made one creepy discovery while showing off their new place.

Hidden rooms and bathrooms have become something more and more homeowners in America have been discovering. While often unexplained, the hidden rooms often lead to interesting stories. For one couple, they found what they describe as a ‘murder room’ while giving a tour of their new home.

TikTok user slowgoldie shared a video that her best friend sent to her of her and her boyfriend’s new home while enjoying their first night there. As the woman shows off her new pad, she is heard pointing out some of the home’s features like the “big old window” and a random cable on the floor that she assumed was for the WiFi.

However, she lands up finding a key sitting on top of the radiator which she presumed was for the wooden bedroom door. When she opened the door, however, she got a whole lot more than she bargained for.

“Does that not look like... what? You can padlock the door closed from the outside? That’s... what?” the woman says in the video. Clearly freaked out, the woman moves on to show off other areas of the house, leading many to wonder what the room could have been used for.

“Nice a fresh ✨murder house✨” one person commented on the video. Another added: “Someone was definitely held captive there...just a feeling the energy off that room.”

Some viewers, however, tried to make sense of the room by giving more logical explanations. “My ex was a sleepwalker and his parents had to do this to him when he was a child, otherwise he would hurt himself regularly,” another user wrote.

Someone else added: “My boyfriend’s shared house was like this, they didn’t have locks so they all installed padlocks on their doors to stop one housemate from stealing things.” Another user added another possible explanation, saying: “Okay but we did that to some of our doors for the rooms where we kept our bird or else our cat would break in and unalive them.”
