Congratulations! BP Express Chatsworth wins bunny chow award

KZN is known for its love of bunny chows - and there appears to be a new champion in town!
The excitement was ever so present, competition fierce, and the flavours absolutely delicious.
BP Express Chatsworth emerged victorious in the prestigious Coca-Cola Bunny Chow Challenge 2023 in a culinary showdown that captivated taste buds and brought the community together.
The event, held in the heart of Chatsworth, became a celebration of culinary diversity and creativity, showcasing the essence of South African cuisine.

For those unfamiliar with the famous bunny chow, it's a beloved South African street food that originated in Durban during the apartheid era.
It consists of a hollowed-out loaf of bread filled to the brim with various savoury fillings, often including curry, vegetables, and meats. The dish's rich history and unique flavours have made it a cherished part of South African culture.
This past Sunday, the final round of the Coca-Cola Bunny Chow Challenge was held at Blue Lagoon, where BP Express Chatsworth came out victorious.
Gregory Naidoo, the owner of the store, shared what it means to them as a business.
"I'm so happy about this achievement. We are proud to produce a product that uplifts our own community, and that can make KZN proud," says Gregory.

The judges, comprising seasoned food critics and some local celebrities, lauded BP Express Chatsworth's bunny chow for its bold yet balanced flavours, as well as its homage to South African culinary heritage.
The competition was fierce, but the winning dish emerged as a true representation of the spirit of Chatsworth and its vibrant food culture.
The Coca-Cola Bunny Chow Challenge 2023 not only celebrated the culinary talent of BP Express Chatsworth, but also showcased the beauty of South African heritage and unity through food.
It demonstrated that food can be a unifying force, transcending barriers and bringing people together.
