So when they got the call to interview the Mayor of uMngeni Municipality, they knew they had to jump at the chance.
Chris Pappas is the mayor and trust us when we say he is no stranger to the media, as he carries one of the heaviest jobs of being a political figure, as well as being a leader of a municipality.
On Thursday, 28 September, the mayor came through to the show just to hang out with the Breakfast team and talk about all aspects of life.
Chris is a KwaZulu-Natal born and raised man who hails from Pietermaritzburg. Raised by his parents, Chris has a younger sister he grew up with on the farmlands of Mooi River.
Much of his primary and secondary school life was spent in KZN, as he attended Treverton Prep School and Hilton College.

Carmen realised that he went to the University of Pretoria and she got excited knowing that there was another alumni who went on to become successful in their field.
"I'm just proud of the way he went to this great university that I went to as well and got to share a cool Tukkies moment with him," says Carmen.
Soon after his rise in the political game, he worked himself up the ranks to become the Mayor of uMngeni Municipality, representing the Democratic Alliance.
The mayor really had a good time with the Breakfast gang and it's always a real treat to hang out with political figures who are so down to earth and interesting.
