Singer-songwriter Céline Dion's husband René Angélil died at his Las Vegas home after a long battle with throat cancer.

Dion, 47, and Angelil have been married since 1994 and have three children. They have been living in Las Vegas so Dion could perform a multi-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace.
The famed entertainer confirmed the death of the Montreal-born musician and her former manager on her website.
"René Angélil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer," the message said. "The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time."
