Bringing hope and possibility to a worthy cause

In collaboration with the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Get Hands On Events and Achilles South Africa are hosting a fundraising event in support of Ethembeni School and Achilles South Africa. Event organiser Gordon Reid shared all the details with Darren, Keri, and Sky.
The purpose of the event is to raise necessary funds for Ethembeni School and Achilles South Africa. This proposed annual relay race seeks to highlight the issues faced by disabled athletes and communities, particularly those in and around KwaZulu-Natal.
Competing for the longest distance covered, teams will also be required to raise a minimum of R20,000 in aid of Ethembeni School and Achilles South Africa.
The goal is also to initiate and develop the initial Achilles South Africa provincial clubs. The first two are set to launch in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng during the latter half of 2019.
The organisation supports and maintains vitally important equipment for disabled athletes, including handcycles, wheelchairs, and running shoes. They also fund and assist disabled athletes’ participation in the New York City Marathon.
