The six-year-old boy risked his life to stand between a charging dog and his younger sister.
The catchphrase "not all heroes wear capes" rings true of a six-year-old boy who bravely protected his younger sister from being mauled by a dog.
According to his aunt, Nikki Walker (@nicolenoelwalker) on Instagram, who shared the story, little Bridger received 90 stitches after being brutally bitten by a dog on the face and head.

“If someone had to die, I thought it should be me," was what the little hero said after his injuries.
As sweet messages of encouragement and applause poured in, Nikki updated social media users of Bridger's state.
"I just finished visiting with Bridger at his home. His wounds are looking so much better! He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact. He can’t smile too widely yet, but he was grinning as I read some of your comments to him," she wrote.

She also assured concerned users that the dog's owners are really great people who have been nothing but kind to Bridger and his family.
