Boy with rare disease gets the surprise of his life
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
While everyone is dealing with their own unique struggles, very few are
able to truly rise above and make the best of all that life has given
them.
14-year-old Jonathan suffers from a very rare genetic skin condition called Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), which causes his skin to endlessly break and blister.
The disease is so bad that even the most mundane tasks like walking, eating, and sleeping are extremely painful for Jonathan.
As a result of his EB, Jonathan, who is an avid sports fan, was forced to give up his dream of being a professional hockey player. With his condition showing no signs of improvement, it seemed impossible that he would ever get the chance to lead a "normal" life.
When one professional hockey team that happens to be Jonathan's favourite, the Ottawa Senators heard about Jonathan's story, they became determined to help him get the chance to feel what it's like to be a pro. Jonathan's courage and strength inspired the team so much that they put together an incredible surprise that allowed him to feel like part of the group.
