In the world of professional boxing, there are a select few individuals whose names become synonymous with greatness. 

One such name that rings through the annals of boxing history is that of Francois 'White Buffalo' Botha.

A force to be reckoned with inside the ring, Botha's journey is as captivating as his boxing prowess. Also, did we forget to mention that this fantastic boxer actually lives right here in KwaZulu-Natal!

Born on the 28th of September 1968 in Witbank, Botha discovered his love for boxing at an early age. 

Standing at an imposing 6 feet 2 inches and weighing over 240 pounds, he possessed a rare combination of size, strength, and agility that would soon propel him to the highest levels of the sport.

Soon he will be in the ring once more to fight at the age of 54.

He visited the Breakfast with Darren Maule team for a chat: 

The White Buffalo wants to rewrite history and become the oldest heavyweight champion in history at 54. 

This man has fought the likes of Sonny Bill Williams, Wladimir Klitschko, Michael Moorer, Evander Holyfield, and other top athletes in his career thus far.

Another achievement to add to his list is the launch of a gym right here on Zenith Drive in Umhlanga Rocks called, White Buffalo Boxing & Fitness Gym

The gym will train professionals, amateurs, and people who just fancy getting fit. 

In his personal capacity, he is a family man through and through. Among Botha’s pro projects is his son, Marcel Botha, who's 33 and hoping to follow in his dad's footsteps. 

Botha and his wife Elsje have two children. Botha's daughter, Cecelia, lives in the United States, where Botha hopes to set up rematches with a few of his old foes.
