It's flattering to be asked to be someone’s mentor. What we don’t realise, however, is how much the senior person can benefit from reverse mentoring.
I know from personal experience that every time I engage young executives of different companies, I walk away refreshed and energised, filled with new ideas and new paradigms.
It completely changes the lense I use to see the business world through. Many senior executives are now embracing the concept of reverse mentoring, where they’re paired with, and mentored by, younger employees, who help them with technology, social media. and current trends they may not be aware of because of their age/social circles.
