In today's Big Favour, we meet Nadia Munsamy, who is from The Sahara Shelter for Abused Women and Children.
The Sahara Shelter is a project of the Phoenix Child Welfare, which is a registered non-profit organisation.
It visualises itself as an agency dedicated to the needs and improvement of the quality of life of women and children who are survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), abuse, and assault.
Here's what Nadia said more about the NGO in Part 1:
Since 1994, the organisation has been providing support services and raising resources to protect the rights of these women and children.
Through this, it is all about bringing relief to them through various interventions.

The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for admission.
Admission is via the South African Police, Department of Social Development or the local welfare organisation.
The shelter is currently licensed to admit 22 survivors. The location is private due to the shelter being a place of safety.
In order for them to continue to deliver services of excellence, they require much assistance.
The NGO has various areas they need assistance with, such as groceries, perishable food, vegetables, and toiletries for the women.

For the children at the shelter, stationery, educational books, toys, furniture, and cash donations for running costs are needed to make the lives of these kids feel like they are in a homely environment.
After hearing this extraordinary story, many organisations were moved and wanted to help out this NGO strive for success.
In came Marlon Naidoo, who is the CEO at MLN Contractors, to help where possible.
So Marlon got together with the board at MLN Contractors and they were thinking of how they can offer their contribution towards the shelter.
This is something that is really close to their hearts, as helping people in need is a real passion for their business.
