Big Favour: 'I just want to see my dad for the last time while he's alive'

The Big Favour offers some much needed support for Mellissa Thenius and her family, who are in desperate need of financial assistance.
Mellissa Thenius is in desperate need of financial assistance for herself and her family.
She wants to make a trip to Cape Town to say her last goodbyes to her dad, who sadly is battling stage 4 Cancer.
Mellissa has been advised by his doctor that he should be surrounded by family as he doesn’t have much time left.
Lauren Saunders, Mellissa’s closest friend, wrote to The Big Favour requesting help for her friend and her family.

My name is Lauren, and I am asking for a little help with my best friend Mellissa Thenius.
She (Mellissa) is in need of funds to go see her dad in Cape Town who has Stage 4 Cancer and is spreading rapidly, his losing weight daily and its showing.

He is 71 years old and she lost her mom on the
2 Jan 2021 suddenly and only has her dad left.
He's cancer was removed in 2020 but it has come back with vengeance.

They are a family of 4 and need R5000.00 for petrol to get down to see him. We are currently raising funds trying to raffle a 'Angel Cake' in KZN and a 'Fresh Snoek' in the Western Cape.
Please find it in your heart to help and let the grandkids say goodbye before it’s too late.
