Ballito installs their first traffic light inverter

Traffic lights in Ballito will soon be using inverters.

Ballito’s growth owing to significant private sector investment in recent years has increased the traffic load on Ballito’s roads.

The Ballito Urban Improvement Precinct has tested out the first of four backup power solutions for traffic lights at several intersections in Ballito.

This innovative device reduces traffic congestion by automatically changing the traffic signal timing in response to the traffic flow.

Ballito UIP precinct manager, Thierry Leclezio, was ecstatic to see plans being made by the KwaDukuza municipality’s (KDM) electrical department about this inverter.

"We are happy to announce that the first inverter installation at the McDonald's intersection has been a success, with traffic lights operational and vehicles flowing freely," says Leclezio.

This will be massive for the area of Ballito as it continues to grow thanks to investment.

Like any motorist, there would be frustration when traffic lights are out at key intersections during loadshedding.

Luckily for the North side of KZN, with Ballito UIP collaborating with KwaDukuza Municipality, the mission is to retain all existing investment, build investor confidence, and improve the quality of life for everyone.
