'The Bachelor SA' star Lee Thompson talks manipulation and 'low quality' options on the show

The former 'Bachelor SA' star's experience on the show is one he does not dream of going through again.
Season one's 'The Bachelor SA', Lee Thompson, has opened up about the things we do not see on the show in his tell-all book, 'The Truth Behind The Rose'.
In an interview with Gareth Cliff on 'Cliff Central', Thompson did not mince his words about his experience on the dating show, which sees 24 female contestants vying for the heart of one bachelor.

Speaking about the contestants that he had to choose from, he felt that they were not in his league and were of "low quality".
"I was in there fully committed to try and find a partner to spend the rest of my life with. That was my main goal - there is no doubt about that. I thought that M-Net and Rapid Blue would come up with really good options for me,” Thompson said.

He further revealed that he was manipulated and brainwashed into choosing women he would have sent home, which he says took its toll on him mentally.
In his book, Thompson delves deeper into the lies and deceit that went on in the show.
