A baby in China has the world in shock after being born with 31 fingers and toes!
The baby, named Hong Hong, has 15 fingers, 16 toes and two palms on each hand, but no thumbs. The destitute family currently seeks donations to help the four-month-old baby boy get surgery.
Polydactyly - the condition of being born with extra fingers and toes, is not considered a rare genetic disorder, and affects one in every 1,000 births, but Hong's condition is more severe.
The parents have received criticism for raising money online, and have pulled away from collecting donations, even though the parents have managed to raise R90,000 to date and the surgery will cost R450,000.
Hong Hong's mother's condition is not as severe as her son's — she has 12 fingers and 12 toes.
According to doctors, Hong will only be fit for surgery when he is between the ages of six months and a year.
