1. There will be no interruptions at the U.S presidential debate

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced that they will mute microphones at the start of each segment of Thursday night's debate to ensure both candidates can speak without interruption after President Donald Trump constantly spoke over Joe Biden the last time. Get the popcorn ready!

2. Brazilian Senator caught hiding cash between his butt cheeks

During an investigation into the misuse of COVID-19 response funding, Brazilian Senator Chico Rodrigues was caught in a police raid with money hidden between his bum cheeks. Yes! You read that right. But of course he denied the wrongdoing and said he had been clean throughout his 30 years in politics.

3. NASA astronaut to cast vote from space

NASA astronaut Kate Rubins told news agencies that she plans to cast her next vote from space – more than 200 miles above Earth. Rubins is currently in Russia preparing for a mid-October launch and a six-month stay at the International Space Station. She said that it's very important for everyone to vote and that if they can do it from space, others can do it on the ground.

4. SABC wants expansion of TV licence fees to cover tablets, smartphones, Netflix, and Showmax

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has proposed a number of changes to South Africa’s TV licences as it continues to battle with revenue collection. The SABC wants to impose a license fee on online streaming services like Netflix and Showmax as a sort of “Traffic fine”. 

5. More than 80 ancient coffins found in Egypt that were buried over 2,500 years ago

Ongoing archaeological work in Egypt has led to the discovery of another 80 ancient coffins just weeks after the initial discovery was announced. Despite being buried for thousands of years, the coffins have been incredibly well preserved, with vibrant painted faces and patterns still clearly visible on the surface. Maybe it was buried for a reason and should remain there?!
