Schoolyard proposal: Was it wrong or is everyone overreacting?
Updated | By Sbu
Take a listen as KZN listeners and Sbu share their thoughts on the school marriage proposal that has gone viral on social media.
So, in case you missed it, a teenage couple has been suspended after an 18-year-old learner proposed to his 16-year-old girlfriend in uniform on school premises. Can you believe that the guy saved up for a R2,000 engagement ring which was confiscated by the school?!
Check out the full video here.
Both sets of parents are in full support of the proposal. In fact, the girl's mother couldn't be more delighted. Sowetan reported that the mother said: "I am happy with the step these children are taking. Mduduzi is a good boy. I can't think of a better son-in-law."

So I chatted about the school-yard proposal during my show on Friday and asked the listeners what they thought of the situation. Their responses were surprising to say the least. Here's what they had to say...
Personally, I think it was the cutest thing I've seen in my entire life. It took me back to the time when I almost proposed to a girl that I dated back in high school.
Back then I had to rely on a monthly allowance to get by, so buying a ring was out of the question. I had the brilliant idea of making a ring made up of plastic wrappings. Ha!
I don't think that the teen couple should be suspended. Being in love is not wrong and they didn't commit a crime. But that's just me.
