In what world? Aston Martin bumps taxi at traffic circle

Having an accident is no joke, but in this instance, it was a tad bit ironic that it was the taxi that was hit...

In South Africa, taxis have earned a notorious reputation for rule-breaking and the fatalities often caused by reckless driving.

That’s why it was so surprising (no offence to the many taxi drivers who follow the rules) to see a taxi involved in an accident where it wasn’t at fault.

A video shared on social media shows a taxi stopping at a traffic circle to give way to a Checkers Sixty60 driver.

As the Checker Sixty60 driver passes, another vehicle crashes into the taxi's rear. But this isn't just any vehicle – it's believed to be an Aston Martin, according to the Instagram account that posted the video.

While the footage isn’t very clear, it’s obvious that the car collided with the stationary taxi.

Naturally, people were stunned to see an Aston Martin driver rear-end a taxi – something most South Africans wouldn’t expect to witness.

But this incident serves as a reminder that anything can happen on our roads.
