VIDEO: Monkey snatches puppy and plays in the trees
Even monkeys enjoy a bit of playtime – perhaps this was the monkey’s way of making a new friend.
One might say the monkey was the adrenaline junkie, while the puppy was just along for the ride.
A video circulating on social media shows a monkey perched high in a tree, clutching a relaxed-looking puppy in its arms.
According to the video, filmed in Vietnam, this isn't a one-time
stunt. The monkey often snatches the puppy and takes it up the tree.
The puppy's owner has assured viewers that the monkey simply enjoys playing with its furry friend and has never harmed or dropped it.
After leaping between trees for a while, the monkey eventually brought the pup back down safely.

Another Instagram account, Vietnam Local Adventures, revealed that the monkey is also a pet of the same family that owns the puppy and it is usually kept tied up.
On this particular day, the monkey managed to break free, grabbed the puppy, and climbed up the tree.
The video quickly sparked debate, with some viewers finding the interaction amusing, while others raised concerns about the treatment of animals in Vietnam.
One commenter, t21rose, shared a strong opinion: "This is not funny or cute. It’s Vietnam we are talking about. There are no animal protection laws here, and animals are abused and kept in horrendous conditions. This dog is a puppy now… it will live most of its life chained up or inside a small cage. If it escapes as an adult, that dog will most likely be eaten here.
"Monkeys here are kept as pets and should not be. Most are caged up and have no outside life. To remove the sounds a monkey makes, since most are kept indoors in small apartments, many owners have their vocal cords removed."
We came across another video from the original poster, where we could hear the distressing cries of a dog – most likely the puppy’s mother.
Google Translate revealed the context of the post: "I was taking my little brother out for a walk when he ran away to pick up the dog and go out for a walk."
