No water, no problem; let's shower at the gym and use the pool water for the toilet...

You can always trust a South African to make a plan.

As South Africans, we are always finding a solution to our problems, whether water or electricity outages; resilience is in our DNA.

A young woman who is an avid TikTok user and often shares her personal journey navigating life with allergies shared an interesting approach to not having water at her residence for more than 24 hours.

In a video from late July this year, she shared how they had no water in their complex for over 24 hours. So, they made a plan by showering at the gym, but they had to think outside the box when using the toilet.

Shiv and her sister Ash decided to walk to the pool with their buckets and get water from there. Resilience.

They took their bucket loads of water and found that many other residents watched them through their windows. However, they started a trend because other residents did the same thing. It was a win-win.

Shiv revealed this was not a planned water outage, but after they shared the video, the water returned.
