Thailand hotel manager praised for calm during earthquake

Amid any storm, the one thing required is calm, and this man provided just that to his guests and staff.

The saying, "It's always calmest before the storm," proved true for many before the  7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Thailand and Myanmar on Friday, March 28, 2025.

Videos from various perspectives have captured the full scale of the devastation, with the death toll rising steadily in both countries.

The aftermath is grim, as both locals and tourists face the shocking impact of the earthquake. With rescuers working to locate survivors, panic has begun to set in.

A hotel manager in Thailand is being praised for his leadership and calm amid the chaos following the earthquake tremors. Video footage shows him addressing both guests and staff outside the hotel, calmly reassuring them during a time of panic.

Social media users have widely praised his ability to provide comfort in such a stressful situation.

Sometimes, simply hearing someone say "everything will be okay" can be enough to calm fears, even when the reality may be uncertain. 

Drawing from his personal experience as someone from New Zealand, where he'd experienced similar situations, he shared his insights and reassured everyone that they would be safe.

Just days before the 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Thailand and Myanmar, a strong 6.7 magnitude quake had hit off New Zealand’s South Island, with coastal areas being warned to stay away from the beach.
