This might be an oldie, but it's certainly worthy of a throwback...

Today we're throwing it back to one of the most bizarre sports championships ever: vegan horse riding or as it is officially referred to, Hobby Horse Championships.

The Finnish Hobby Horse Championship is an event like no other.

A day of pure equestrian enchantment with a twist – it’s all vegan!

Organised by The Finnish Hobbyhorse Association, the Finnish Hobby Horse Championships is a fantastical event that draws over 1,500 hobby horse enthusiasts from Finland and beyond. It’s a celebration of creativity, skill, and a touch of magic.

While it may not rival the excitement of the horses at the Hollywood Bets July, it certainly demands just as much, if not more, athleticism from the jockeys – and a whole lot of imagination.

The championships see participants invested in crafting "whimsical hobby horses" as their companions in the horse hobbying.

If you haven’t already noticed, this form of horse riding breaks away from tradition and introduces a whole new world for animal lovers and those looking to challenge conventional sports.

It takes us back to our childhoods, when a broomstick was our trusty steed, and the play was full of innocence and fun.

While the sport might seem absurd to some, it’s actually quite popular in Finland, and the championship welcomes participants from around the globe.
