Smell is a sense that often goes unnoticed, but it’s incredibly powerful – both for its benefits and, at times, its drawbacks.

When faced with an unpleasant smell, you'd probably wish this sense didn’t exist at all.

No one wants to be known for having bad body odour, which is why the perfume industry continues to thrive. But as many of us know, those high-end fragrances aren't cheap.

Branded perfumes are carefully crafted and pricey, which means not everyone – especially students – can afford luxury scents.

We’ve seen some wild trends in the media, like perfumes inspired by food. There was the infamous bacon-scented perfume and even one that supposedly smelled like French Fries

A student who’s passionate about sharing her skincare journey recently introduced a budget-friendly perfume hack for those on a tight budget.

While we can't say if this will work for everyone, or if it's suitable for those with sensitive skin, we’re intrigued by the creative approach to smelling great.

Musa Matinise, the student behind the idea, suggests using a few drops of vanilla essence around your neck as an affordable alternative to traditional perfume.

Although this thinking isn't exactly new – just recently, we saw a woman share how she mixed water and vanilla essence in a spray bottle and used it as a natural mosquito repellent – we have to admit it's very innovative.
