Real-life Robocop deployed to the streets of Dubai

This is so far into the future that we feel a bit uneasy...

We know Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to be over the top and living in the future in many aspects, but their new installation has created quite the hype.

"Dubai has deployed a real-life Robocop, instating a human-sized robot as a lieutenant, with the mission to report a crime, issue fines, and conduct friendly chats in Arabic or English." (Bit Defender)

A video circulating social media shows us a Robocop on the streets of Dubai, but there needs to be more clarity as online resources say that this Robocop is from 2017. After the Gulf Information and Security Expo in 2017, when authorities unveiled their Robot Lieutenant, people were stunned to see this robot cop on the streets using a Tesla.

Time Out Dubai shared a piece about an intelligent robot that hit the streets to perform some of the same responsibilities as the Robocop we see in the social media video.

"A new smart robot which will use facial recognition linked with your Emirates ID to detect crime has hit the streets for the first time. The Roads and Transport Authority will surveil and detect violations from people using the city’s bicycles and scooters. The Dubai robot (who we should clarify is entirely friendly) will be able to identify a range of violations such as failure to adhere to personal safety protocols like wearing helmets and abandonment of scooters in unauthorised areas." (Time Out Dubai)

The image of the Robocop mentioned above that the RTA has looks less humanoid and more R2-D2.
