You don't often hear about criminals who are brave enough to challenge the law and escape jail – unless you're talking about Thabo Bester.

While the entertainment world loves to romanticise the idea of evading the law and becoming a hero, it's far from reality.

But one man proved that some are still willing to make a bold South African prison break

A video shows him scaling the side of a building – the Jeppe Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg – displaying some impressive Spidey-like skills.

According to News24, the incident occurred on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The man, Onoshana Thando Sadiki, was seen climbing out of the third floor of the court house.

Watch the video below from X.

Sadiki was set to appear at Jeppe Magistrate's Court on charges of theft and housebreaking, and his climbing skills now make more sense given his background.

Fortunately, he was quickly recaptured after his daring escape and will now face additional charges on top of his original ones. Details about how he managed to escape the court remain scarce.

"The suspect escaped yesterday, February 18, 2025, when he was appearing at Jeppe Magistrate's Court on a charge of housebreaking and theft. He was rearrested today, February 19, 2025, at Malvern by the Jeppe tracing team and will be further charged with escape from lawful custody," said Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.
