If you are confused by what you just saw in the above video from TikTok, let us tell you what we understand.

Tristyn shared the video on his social media with the caption, "Don't steal ous". Loosely translated, he is trying to warn people not to steal because this could be the punishment.

We see young boys doing the duck walk on the pavement of what looks like Sylvester Ntuli Road, Durban. The camera then pans back to where they started, and we see a police van following the boys slowly.

Late last week, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli expressed his concern over the youth turning to crime due to the unemployment rate.

"Young people engage in criminal activities, and the rate is skyrocketing and alarming. These statistics paint a bleak picture of the state of our youth", he said at the two-day youth business summit at Durban Exhibition Centre on Thursday, 11 July 2024.

There are no concrete details as to what these young boys did, but it is obvious that they are being punished for their behaviour. Many people came to the comments section to share their views.

  • "Just a normal day in South Africa"
  • "I would've stood up and ran away"
  • "Our PE teacher used to make us do that, it's called the duck walk"
  • "It's when a cop doesn't want to ruin someone's life with a prison record and tries a lighter punishment"
  • "Love this ...this is what we need if fathers don't teach police should"
