Car guards come in different shapes and forms. Some are super friendly and kind, and then you get the ones that will follow you around until they get something.

Notoriously, car guards are known for making 'good' money in their field. But that's also a stereotype that was addressed in The Carol Ofori Podcast in 2023

Usually, when motorists don't have change or cash on them, they either politely say so or just drive off. 

One woman found out that in South Africa, you must always be prepared for the unexpected. 

After telling a car guard she didn't have cash on her to give him anything, he masterfully pulled out his card machine...
