KZN has an avid fishing community, which means there's never a shortage of entertaining fishing stories.

Whether it involves private security companies patrolling the shores for fishing permits or heavy rainfall challenging anglers across the province, there's never a dull moment between a fisherman (or woman), their rod, and the vast ocean.

One video, in particular, left us with a sinking feeling in our stomachs – and it certainly was a case of fisherman's luck.

The footage shows fishermen standing near a rocky coastline, having spotted a large shark, which immediately catches their attention.

As one of the men films the shark, something happens that could’ve turned tragic.

The man standing closest to the water slips on a rock and falls in. He quickly regains his balance and climbs back on top of the rock, but not before losing his Crocs to the sea.

The shark is just as shocked as him, and nudges the Crocs with its nose before swimming away.

It's the friend yelling for him that made the video that much more dramatic... "Ah, Aye Miguel, Miguel..."
