Kasi gents try sushi for the first time

It seems "life was not better with a side of wasabi and soy sauce" for these gents...

After watching a security guard's reaction to eating sushi for the first time, we've established that sushi is not for everyone. (If you're curious, you can see the video here).

Mukbang – a Korean internet phenomenon of live-streamed or recorded videos of people eating – has gained massive popularity on social media over the years.

What surprises us most about mukbang is the sheer number of people who enjoy watching others eat.

When a group of friends decided to film themselves trying sushi for the first time, let's just say... it didn't exactly go as expected.

The video, shared on Instagram, had people laughing out loud, including South African comedian Celeste Ntuli.

What made it even funnier was that most of them didn’t even taste the sushi; they simply reacted based on their friends' expressions.

The first guy, who seemed the most excited to try it, ended up only tasting the soy sauce before immediately losing interest – much like a baby tasting a lemon for the first time.

Many people commented saying they wished these gents had given "wasabi" a chance, but we doubt that would've improved their experience.

  • "Can someone please tell them that the wasabi is the best, please tell them it tastes like fried chicken. I want to see something."

  • "I was waiting for them to try the wasabi."

  • "I'll never forget the day I romantically fed my lady the avocado and "pink" fish meat. I was so confused when she looked like she was about to vomit. Her eyes went watery, and I asked, "What's going on?" I tried it myself, and yoh! Nkosi yama Japani, I thought I was gonna pass out. I took that plate and placed it three tables away from us. I've had sushi before but for some reason, I never came across wasabi before. I'm sure my lady was like, mcim! Look at him acting like he knows everything, a beautiful memory, though."
