FNB extends R69 car licence delivery fee promo
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
FNB App users pay only R69 for delivery when renewing their car licence.

South Africans have welcomed the convenience of renewing their licence discs in various ways. Gone are the days of waiting in long queues at post offices or licencing centres.
Now, car owners can apply for their renewals with just a few clicks, and many services offer door-to-door delivery for an added fee.
Of course, this convenience comes with an added cost. Business Tech reported 10 ways to renew car licences in 2024, with some services charging up to R239, including delivery.
However, many people still prioritise convenience and time management over cost, which is why online renewal services are so popular.
FNB has remained a strong contender in the market, offering a low delivery fee of R69. Initially set to end in February 2025, this promotional rate has been extended until the end of March 2025.
According to My Broadband, “FNB will still be the cheapest channel for an online licence disc renewal with its regular price of R99. This is the same as the fee the government’s National Administration Traffic Information System (Natis) charges."
It's important to note that the R69 fee excludes the R72 Road Traffic Management Corporation charge, which is added onto all renewals, and the licencing fee itself. This charge is based on the vehicle’s weight and province of registration.
Since licence disc renewals can be renewed up to two months before the expiry date, vehicle owners whose licences expire on or before May 2025 can take advantage of this discounted rate, provided they bank with FNB.
Check out the breakdown below from My Broadband, which compares the online platforms offering disc renewal services and their associated costs.
