Flashback to the man who married a fictional hologram

Yes, this might sound weird to us, but many people from Asia have resonated with it.

At first, some might think this is outrageous and never quite understand what a person thinks when they marry something like a hologram

But there is a pandemic that is different from the one we experienced a few years ago. It is a pandemic that breathes life into inanimate objects due to a raging global phenomenon: loneliness

A man by the name of Akihiko Kondo made news headlines all over the world in 2019. He took his love for the fictional character, Hatsune Miku, to the next level. Akihiko Kondo married "Hatsune Miku , a virtual singer who has starred in several video games and has even accompanied Lady Gaga on her world tours."

Check out some of the wedding snaps from his Instagram page.

In case you were wondering, the voice in the video is that of his wife, Hatsune Miku. It was made possible by a company called Gatebox, which creates holographic technology.

Sadly, the technology that allowed him to communicate with his better half is not possible as of a few years back when the software became unavailable.

"According to the Japanese newspaper The Mainichi , Kondo says that his relationship with the hologram helped him overcome a deep depression caused by work and fear of social rejection. Faced with the inability to continue communicating with her, the man has said: "My love for Miku has not changed. I held the wedding ceremony because I thought that I could be with her forever."
