Durbanite jokes at becoming a treasure hunter at local pool
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
Who knew the best place to find loose change other than the couch
was the pool?

Content creator Wade Gounden is known for sharing topical content about life in and around Durban, often highlighting culture and community in a relatable way.
With his charismatic approach and willingness to step outside his comfort zone, he creates content that resonates with Durbanites.
In a recent video, Gounden took a dive – literally – into the deep end of his community pool and discovered a hidden treasure.
He found loose change sitting at the bottom and was excited to share how much money he collected on his first day.
We were surprised to learn that some swimmers carry money in their pockets – despite it being common practice to leave cash behind. But clearly, not everyone minds losing a few rands in the water.
Gounden was thrilled to announce his underwater treasure: a total of R16. It might not seem like much, but it’s enough to buy a loaf of brown bread.
Watch as he jokes about turning his discovery into a new profession. Maybe don’t quit your day job just yet, Gounden – although this could make for an interesting side hustle.

The next day, he upped his game, uncovering R21.70 and proudly declaring himself a treasure hunter.
It was hilarious to watch – especially since lost coins are usually found in couch cushions, not at the bottom of a pool.
