Checkers Sixty60 celebrates Global Beatles Day
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Checkers Sixty60 brings a South African flair to the iconic Abbey Road picture of The Beatles.
Happy Global Beatles Day!
Today is a special day, also known as World Beatles Day, set aside to honour and celebrate The Beatles.
Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr changed the world with their music.
They sold over 600-million albums worldwide and won seven Grammy Awards. Their song, 'Yesterday', is the most covered song in history, having been covered over 3,000 times. (Days of the Year)
In honour of this special day, Checkers South Africa did something unique on their TikTok page.
They carried out a special delivery to South Africans living in the United Kingdom. The Checkers Sixty60 bag was filled with tastes from home and the driver even took a photo on Abbey Road, mimicking the iconic Beatles photo from their album of the same name.
" Global Beatles Day is a great time to remember these music industry pioneers and honour the change they brought to the world." (Days of the Year)
