A biryani candle for the biryani lovers
Updated | By East Coast Radio
These Indian food-inspired candles leave us mystified...
Biryani is a well-loved dish worldwide. Although there are more than a few variations of how this dish is made, it is mainly loved for its versatility.
"Though it may appear to be a dish indigenous to India, it originated quite far away. Biryani is derived from the Persian word Birian, which means ‘fried before cooking’ and Birinj, the Persian word for rice. While there are multiple theories about how biryani made its way to India, it is generally accepted that it originated in West Asia." (Times of India)
But now, instead of drooling over the dish, a self-taught candlemaker has made us drool over her unique food-inspired creations.

This Indian candle artist, as she calls herself, has received much esteem from various news publications. She has an online store and runs candle-making workshops.
Her brand, House of Drip, has attained much online popularity for her A-Z food series candles. She has made everything from Aloo Paratha candles to Samoosa candles.
Her candles range from R16 to R66, which is quite affordable for such beautiful works of art.
