Since the announcement of the Smart ID in South Africa, I have been itching to get one.
Both my mom and my dad have them but there’s some great news for those of us who are still carrying the old green ID book.
The Department of Home Affairs has launched its Smart ID pilot programme with FNB, Standard Bank, ABSA and Nedbank where you will be able to get your Smart ID from these banks provided you are a customer of the bank.
It will start of in FNB and Standard Bank and once the glitches have been identified and sorted, it will move to ABSA and Nedbank.
