Watch: Terrifying moment Ballito farmer gets attacked by Crocodile
Updated | By Damon Beard
A man from Ballito is lucky to walk away with a few minor injuries after he was attacked by a Crocodile who was busy protecting its eggs.
After seeing this video, the only question in my mind is: "why would anyone in their right mind poke a crocodile with a stick while it’s defending its eggs?"
This is what Peter, a farmer from Crocodile Creek right here in my hometown of Ballito, did and nearly paid the price for doing so.

Brave Peter used a stick to poke the mother Crocodile, but it seems that she was having none of it. She was only about protecting her eggs, and in a terrifying turn of events, as he approaches the massive croc who was lying in the sun, things went horribly wrong.
As he steps closer, she goes in for the attack causing him to fall to his feet. The 73-year-old man couldn’t get away fast enough, and the croc grabs his foot.
Watch the video below:
I made contact with the Manager of Crocodile Creek. Shaun confirms that the video took place back in 2013, and has recently resurfaced.
Shaun added that Peter survived the attack and only walked away with a broken toe. Peter is said to have poked the Crocodile in an attempt to get access to its eggs which was going to be used for testing.

Yikes, close call! Let's just say that Peter won't be poking any more crocs from now on.
