This home, which serves as a safe haven for children in the community, was in a bad way and Miriam, who started the home 20 years ago, was at the end of her tether, wondering not only how she was going to feed the children who rely on her for a warm meal each day, but how she was going to repaint, replace the wiring, fix the electrical problems, pay the phone bill, sort out the plumbing, replace the fridge, stove, washing machine, and freezer. It was just all too overwhelming.
With word spreading fast, within days some incredible people jumped on board and were immediately ready to help Miriam.
John Wyndham from Defy, who has helped us on The Big Favour so many times in the past, didn't hesitate this time. Defy will be giving the home a new stove, fridge, washing machine, and chest freezer.
Kim and Doug from Debonairs Pizza, also old friends of The Big Favour who are always more than happy to help, will be spoiling all the kids with Real Deal Pizzas and cooldrinks.
Debonairs Pizza will also be baking flat breads on a weekly basis and delivering them to the home.
So many other sponsors have also helped too, so an enormous thank you to the following company's who have rallied around the cause:
· BBF Safety Group
· Supa Mama Refuge Bags
· Timber City
· Beier Group
· Ganga Plumbers
A massive thank you to Vanessa Ronald who was instrumental in finding these sponsorships for the Gozololo Children's Home.
