Should women be dancing like this while wearing a traditional sari?
Updated | By Damon Beard
Damon's colleague was horrified when he saw this video. Now he wants to know whether his colleague was right to react the way he did?
Listen as KZN reacts to the topic in the podcast then read more below:
When I got to work on Monday morning, one of my colleagues was busy watching a video and started becoming very vocal about how horrified he was after seeing it.

The video, which was uploaded to the D Knockers Facebook page, shows an Indian woman dressed in traditional clothing (known as a sari) dancing pretty provocatively to the 'Papi Chulo' song, made famous by artist Lorna.
Take a listen to how my colleague reacted to the video while watching it:
To be honest, when I first saw the video, I didn’t think anything of it, but I figured it was causing some sort of a stir because there were almost two thousand comments and countless shares. Simon, my producer, also had a look at it and also didn't really see an issue with the way she was dancing. However, my colleague thought otherwise, making a comment along the lines of: 'I don't know why she had to dance like this while dressed up in traditional attire?'
According to Wikipedia, a sari is a traditional Indian garment which is over eight metres in length, wrapped tightly around the waist and draped over the shoulder. It is a graceful garment and symbolises the Indian culture and what it stands for.
From some of the comments, it seems as if this lady in the video is disgracing the tradition of the sari and shouldn't be dancing the way she did. However, others are telling the haters to take a chill pill!
Some are even saying that they can't walk properly in a sari, never mind dance in one, and if this girl can move in a sari, then let her be. Check it out and you be the judge.

What are your thoughts? Is it wrong for this girl to be dancing the way she did while dressed up in a sari? I'd love to hear from you.
