Inspiring! Durban beachfront busker praised for his incredible talent
Updated | By Justin Paul James
It was by chance that Brad Hunter, a Durbanite, got the opportunity to meet Mdu, a busker on the Durban beachfront - and boy-oh-boy is he glad he did!
Listen as Brad Hunter shares the inspiring story about how he met Mdu, or read the details under the podcast.
A proud Durbanite, Brad Hunter, was with his girlfriend at the Durban beachfront this past Monday and had the privilege of meeting 21-year-old Mdu, who is a passionate street performer.
Both Brad and his girlfriend were so inspired after hearing Mdu sing that they had to sit down and hear his story. Brad tells us that Mdu travels from Hammarsdale daily to make his voice heard on the beachfront. After hearing his voice and hearing his story, there was no doubt that this man has talent, and Brad knew that he had to showcase his voice to KZN.

Prompted by his girlfriend, Hunter shot a video of him singing a soulful tune paired with his guitar. Thankfully, Brad is also a photographer, so he always has a camera at the ready.
"I don't know much about Mdu yet, but for some reason I feel like I need to see him again, hear his story and capture his soul for all of you to see," he said in a Facebook post.

Brad hopes that he will get noticed for his talent, which could potentially lead to his big break.

Brad has been keeping in contact with the budding singer and met him again. He shot another incredible video of him covering Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect', and it was even better than the first video.
We were so touched by Mdu's story that we invited him to come play live in studio. Watch his interview and performance below:
