High school students create a club so nobody has to sit alone during lunch
Updated | By Damon Beard
Two clever and thoughtful students set up “We Dine Together” so that lonely kids don’t have to endure lunch alone at school – how awesome?
Has your child ever come home from school and told you he or she sits alone at lunchtime?
The thing is, I doubt they would.
And as a mom or dad, or even older brother and sister, is this something you'd ask your child or sibling?
I'm not a parent, but if I was I'm not sure I'd ask the question.
I think I'd almost just take it for granted that my child was with his or her friends during lunchbreak.

When the lunchtime bell rings and all the learners split up into their groups for lunch, imagine how many kids actually want to be included, but aren't, so they sit alone and feel completely left out.
Now students at a school overseas have set up a club to make sure lonely school children don't eat alone at lunchtime, and I absolutely love the idea.
The learner who started the club was one of those who felt isolated when he arrived at school, and although he's now a senior he's never forgotten the days of being alone at lunchtime. His aim is to ensure that no other student goes through the same thing.
So, here's a question for you.
Have you literally asked your child if he or she is alone at lunch break?
