Faints! See the Idibala Challenge taking Mzansi by storm
Updated | By Damon Beard
There is a new challenge doing the rounds on social media, and while some may consider it to be fun, many have labelled it a bit dangerous.
A new ‘fainting dance’ has gripped South Africa, and people everywhere are literally 'collapsing’ as they get in on a piece of the action.
Limpopo-born musician King Monada's hit song Malwedhe, which means "illness", has inspired a dance unlike anything we've ever seen before.
Introducing the Idibala Challenge, which sees people listening to the song and 'fainting' when the words 'Idibala' plays. The South African reports that the translated version of the chorus is, "When you don’t come home, I faint", and it goes on to say, "When you switch off your phone, I faint”.

Fans around Mzansi have taken to social media to post videos of themselves doing the 'fainting dance', falling to the floor when the lyrics drop. In classrooms, school grounds, and construction sites, it's safe to say that the Idibala Challenge is the latest craze.
However, the challenge has come with a warning. A few 'geniuses' (and I use this term loosely) have attempted the challenge whilst driving - which definitely isn't safe. Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, and 'fainting' at the wrong time can be fatal. Please don't attempt the challenge behind the wheel. Let's be safe.

I have found a few videos of the challenge that have left me in hysterics.
