Diver helps shark by pulling out a kitchen knife embedded in its head
Updated | By Damon Beard
A shark with a 12-inch knife stuck in its head “asked a diving instructor for help” removing it. Check out the incredible video here.
I've only ever been diving once in my life, and that was with a pair of goggles and a snorkel.
So many people have said to me that once you experience life under the water, you'll never want to do anything else.
The things you see are just fascinating.

Talk about fascinating, imagine what a group of tourists diving in the Cayman Islands thought when they spotted a three-foot-long shark with a knife in its head.
The beach resort that shared the video on Facebook said:
“One of our Reef Divers instructors is going viral for helping out a shark during a group dive on Snapper Reef.
On Monday, Dive Instructor Brett Johnson spotted a nurse shark lying in the sand with a kitchen knife sticking out of its head. Upset about what he saw, Brett swam down to gently remove the object. The whole ordeal was all caught on video by CBBR guest, Brian Goding. Fortunately, the shark seems to be doing all right and we even spotted him again swimming around the same reef.
Our entire Reef Divers team hopes this reminds others to respect our beautiful underwater friends, which are a protected species in the Cayman Islands.”
If you watch the video you'll see that when the shark spots the divers, it's almost like it settles right below them, as though asking for help.

The dive instructor pulled the knife out the shark's head, leaving a pretty nasty wound. But the good news is that it seemed to be doing alright, and was later spotted swimming around the same reef.
