Brand blasted for choice of fashion model
Updated | By Damon Beard
People seem to be unhappy about the model chosen because they feel she is "the wrong choice", "#wrongimage", "underweight", and "underaged".
However, for all the negative comments, and those saying the model is "anorexic", others make good points, saying that 'all bodies are worthy, even if they are different to yours'.
If the model used is not representative of the majority of South African women, should the hurtful comments not then be taken up with the actual brand, without insulting the model?
The brand in question replied to the hurtful comments on social media, saying they support people of all body types and are committed to using models who represent all South Africans.
They went on to say that their model is a person and the comments are hurtful.
