A Palestinian boy experienced a horrific experience at a West Bank zoo this week.

The nine-year-old visited Qalqilya Zoo as part of a school trip.

The child reportedly tried to feed the bear some food through its cage when it suddenly pounced.

The animal bit off his forearm and then proceeded to eat it, according to the Daily Mail.

The boy was rushed to hospital, where he is recovering.

He lost his arm from the elbow down.

Palestinian police are investigating the incident.

The zoo has been closed until further notice.

A nine-year-old Chinese boy also lost his arm during a visit to a local zoo in 2014.

He tried to pat the caged bear after climbing over a safety rail at Hebin Park Zoo.
