Picking the best schooling environment for your child is a huge decision. On Tuesday's Big Debate with Damon Beard, he wants to know whether it makes a difference if they are placed in a single-sex or co-ed school?

According to a recent study published by The Educator, new information has surfaced which reveals that 'students do better in single-sex schools'.
The study revealed that single-sex schools outperform co-ed schools and also the study 'proves without a doubt' that girls and boys do better in single-sex environments.

The biggest issue in the single-sex versus co-ed schools debate seems to be the possibility of attraction and distraction in the classroom.
Having someone of the opposite sex is in the classroom may distract the learner. Sure, that is a possibility, but what about people attracted to the same sex? Or those not interested in dating anyone? Or those students who are intimidated by the opposite sex?

Apparently, girls are more disadvantaged in co-ed classes because of factors such as boys’ disruptive behaviour or a teacher’s attention being diverted to boys. It is also said that boys do not fare well in co-ed schools.
As a mom or dad, which direction would you go for choosing a school for your child - single-sex or a co-ed school?
