Would you give up your seat for a pregnant passenger?
Updated | By East Coast Radio
A man posted on his social media asking why he is expected to give up his seat on a bus to a pregnant woman - and gets slammed... hard.
Have you ever been on public transport and given your seat up to a pregnant woman? Well, the majority of us think that this is the polite and kind thing to do, right? Not so right for everyone, it seems, as a man posted on his Reddit account asking why he is expected to automatically give up his seat on the bus to a pregnant woman?
He was slammed by his own family and responded by saying: "It's not my fault she decided to have a baby."

The man's car had been written off and he was travelling to work with a bus whilst he waited for the insurance company to settle the situation. The man spends a lot of time on his feet at his job and looked forward to sitting on his bus ride home, as he also had a 20-minute walk home thereafter.
So when he refused to give up his seat to a fellow passenger that happened to be pregnant, he was painted as a monster by other passengers and his family when they found out. He said he wasn't rude and merely told her that he had a hard day and didn't want to give up his seat. This did not go down well with the fellow passengers who said he was being a "worthless punk". It was actually an elderly man that ended up giving his seat to the woman.
After posting his question online to get some back up from the masses, he was further slammed by the online community for his unfair comments on her choice to be pregnant.
The lesson behind it all is that everyone has a right to their opinion, but looking closely into someone's circumstances can be life-altering. Don't expect everyone to be empathetic to your situation, whether you are pregnant or had a hard day - it should be a basic human characteristic to be kind.
