Woman with endometritis gives birth without knowing she was pregnant
Updated | By East Coast Radio
A woman who has suffered with endometritis since her teenage years gets pregnant and doesn't even know.
Carla Macpherson, a 22-year-old from Swansea, UK, who has had endometriosis from the time she was a teenager, gave up on the idea of having kids. She also got the contraceptive injection regularly.
So how she gave birth in a bathroom to a healthy and happy little boy, absolutely leaves us shocked.
Her boyfriend, Jaiden, who always said that he didn't want kids, loved going out clubbing with Carla. After a night out clubbing and drinking in 2019, their entire lives changed.
Carla and Jaiden got home, and Carla started experiencing abdominal pains, which she thought might be something like appendicitis. A couple of hours later, enter baby boy Oscar.
Oscar is now two and it seems that his entry into this world wasn't any old, ordinary story. He came gushing out of his mama on the bathroom floor.
"So, like most 20-year-olds, we spent our weekends partying. I never expected I would go on a night out and end up with a baby. I am just so thankful he was born healthy," Carla told Metro.
Carla said that it wasn't like anything she had experienced before when her boyfriend told her that it could be stomach cramps and suggested she visit the toilet. She felt an urge and something between her thighs.
She spoke about how terrified she was and how after Oscar came out, she was overwhelmed and couldn't even hold him. She was relieved to hear that Oscar was given the all-clear after visiting the hospital, as she knew that she had engaged in a heavy night of partying and drinking alcohol before he arrived.
After going to the hospital, the doctor revealed to her that her situation was extremely rare and the baby was lying against her back and that is why she wasn't showing, so there was no baby bump.
She was shocked and it all felt surreal to her, we can't even imagine!
After some time, a midwife helped Carla hold her baby boy and it all became real, she was a mother! So after all the drama, it ended as a happy story.
