Woman donates her kidney to her husband's ex-wife!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Debby Neal-Strickland is clearly a woman with a heart of gold!
When it comes to kindness, there can never be enough of it in this world.
This woman, Debby Neal-Strickland, showed us what it means to be truly kind. She and her husband, Jim Strickland, had been dating for 10 years before getting married. Just two days after getting married, she decided to give a piece of herself to his ex-wife, Mylaen.
Debby decided to donate a kidney to her husband's ex-wife. Sounds outrageous, but not so much if you hear the full story and if we choose to associate having a good relationship with your ex as a norm.
Mylaen and Jim have been divorced for nearly 20 years and have maintained a good relationship, as they were still very active in co-parenting their two kids. Mylaen has suffered with kidney disease for a long time and her condition deteriorated last November, where her kidneys were only fully functioning at 8%.
Mylaen's brother was meant to donate his kidney to his sister, but they were not a match, this is when Debby volunteered and the rest is history.
It's clear that the women are now connected for life and what an amazing way to show Mylaen's kids that their stepmother is nothing but pure at heart. Debby knew that Mylaen was about to become a grandmother and shared the below with KRCGTV:
“Imagine her mom not being there. I just couldn’t not try to change that,” she said. “God told me, ‘You're a match' and you need to do this.'”- Debby
Debby had personally experienced a loss with her brother, as he needed a lung, but Debby wasn't a match. After losing her brother, she felt that this was her chance to help someone in need.
What an amazing way of showing love and spreading good vibes. Debby, we are in awe of you and we wish you and your family great health and lots of happiness.
